State Availability Guide: Which Social Casinos Are Open in Your State?
Not all sweepstakes platforms operate in all US states. We outline the common exclusions and how to confirm eligibility for your location.
Why availability varies at all
Sweepstakes casinos rely on promotional sweepstakes law rather than state gambling licences. Because that law differs state by state, and because state regulators have taken an increasingly active interest, operators maintain their own exclusion lists and revise them without much notice.
The states excluded almost everywhere
Washington, Michigan, Idaho and Nevada appear on nearly every exclusion list in our table. If you are in one of those, your options are very limited regardless of which platform you prefer.

What changed recently
This is not a stable picture. During 2025 and 2026 several operators reduced their coverage: High 5 ceased sweeps play in a number of states following licensing action and later added Arizona to its exclusion list, and both High 5 and Stake withdrew from states that had legalised real-money online casinos. In August 2026 the Florida Attorney General filed suit against Stake and VGW, the operator behind Chumba.
Why a VPN is not the answer
Operators use geolocation checks at registration and again at redemption. Misrepresenting your location generally breaches the sweepstakes rules, and the practical consequence is that a redemption is refused after you have spent the time earning it. It is not a workaround.
How to confirm eligibility properly
- Open the operator's own terms or restrictions page, not a third-party list.
- Look for the sweepstakes rules document rather than the marketing page.
- Check the date on the page, if one is published.
- If your state is borderline or recently added, contact support before spending time.
Why lists disagree with each other
Compare three affiliate sites and you will often find three different exclusion lists for the same operator. That is usually staleness rather than dishonesty: operators revise coverage without announcement, and nobody re-checks every platform every week. It is the reason we date our figures and the reason we tell you to treat our table as a prompt rather than an answer.
What to do if your state is excluded
Options narrow but do not vanish. Crown Coins covers 43 of 50 states, the widest in our table, and Stake.us excludes only six. If both exclude you, the honest answer is that this category may not be available to you right now, and no workaround changes that safely.
Age limits differ too
Most platforms in our table require 21+, but not all. Crown Coins operates at 18+ in eligible states. Age and state eligibility are separate checks and both are verified before a redemption is released.
